On this episode of LA Stories with Giselle Fernandez, Giselle joins actor, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Danny Trejo for a socially distant lunch in his own backyard.
The ultimate story of redemption, Trejo spent 11 years in prison for drug and violent crime charges. Now in his 70s, he’s living a life he once only dreamed of. He has a prolific acting career, multiple restaurants across the southland, a record label — and no plans to slow down.
Most recently, he released a new cookbook in honor of his beloved mother. Trejo credits his success to his commitment to being of service to others, and says that everything good that has happened to him is a result of him helping someone else.
These days, he’s stepping up to help those struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic by providing meals to those in need and using his platform to encourage everyone to stay home and stay safe.
